The first touchdown Chase Dee's ran was during a football game with the Peachtree City, GA Packers. As he was running down the near sideline, I had tears pouring from my eyes, running down my face. I looked around an hoped if anyone might have seen me crying those tears of joy being able to photograph that event. I hoped that if anyone noticed they might have thought it was just sweat since it was a hot an humid day.
Fast forward ten or so years. I always make it a point to get in position to get a photo of Chase in the batters box. Yesterday at Northgate High School, Sharpsburg, GA the Northgate Vikings hosted the Mundy's Mill Tigers. I was able to capture a priceless moment when Chase hit a home run over the right field fence, clearing the bases of the three runners who waited for the crack or ping of the ball being struck my the bat.
The first shot taken from the third base side of the diamond from behind the net, I heard the ping and could see from the look on his face it was a well hit, ball. Did ya get that, is a question I frequently hear. I can say I got that, well maybe not the ball on the bat, but the shot, the Mundy's Mill fielder at the fence. The shot of the big grin on his face as passed the second baseman. The grin on his face as he made his turn from third base then down the baseline. The Northgate Vikings Varsity Baseball team members greeting at home plate, money and price can't put a value on this shots or that part of the game.
VERY COOL. GLAD YOU WERE THERE TO CAPTURE THE MOMENT. GREAT SHOTS
